'Nutrients’ diet analysis software was designed to be used at KS3 and 4 to meet the requirements of the Design and Technology National Curriculum.It enables ICT to be used during the development of new food products for nutrition modelling.Its use could also be incorporated in PSHE courses supporting the ‘Food in Schools’ strategy.Advanced features ensure that ‘Nutrients’ is also appropriate for 6th form use.
‘Nutrients’ was designed by a Food Technology teacher and has recently been updated to include a range of new features.The software is easy to use and versatile, enabling the nutritional value of foods to be investigated in a variety of different ways.

The latest nutritional data from the Food Standards Agency for over 850 foods
Nutritional labels that can be produced using students own recipes
Signpost labelling (using FSA criteria) to assist students in interpreting nutritional data
Analysis data that can be printed or exported to ‘Excel’
An ‘investigate’ feature that allows students to compare the amount of a nutrient provided by foods
